The Reading Sensor is an ultrasonic measuring device that is designed to mount to the front of your ATV, rather than taking up your valuable Tow Bar. The Display Console is an extremely smart system that depending on your personal feature needs, is capable of monitoring your location by GPS, sending your records automatically back to your computer, or even monitoring your ATV for safety events like crashes. The Ultrasonic Feed Reader is a development from the Department of Primary Industries Australia, in development since 2001. Commonly asked questions When is this product available for sale? Yes you can, and we recommend speeds of 5-20km/h. In fact the GPS part of the system can stop taking readings and warn you if you are travelling too fast. I have x grass type. Will it work on that? The feed reader should be able to read most forage types, but formula calibration is required. Talk to us if you are concerned. How does it work? The vehicle calibrates itself on a hard surface (0 cover) The Reading Head sends a signal out to a cone shaped area in front of the vehicle. The area it is reading in front is a point inside a circular area about the size of a plate mater plate (40cm). The returned reading gives a mm of height assessment, which is then applied against a formula. The higher the Reader Head, the larger the circular area that is read from. How many readings does it take? 10 per second. What height does it work at? Its optimum height range is 60-120 cm. How accurate is it?
